Literary Fiction Inspired by Family, Grief, and the Paths That Shape Us
C.C. Kell

About the Author

C.C. Kell is the author of The Last Ordinary Day and The Bavent Bloodline Chronicles novels.

Born and raised in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Kell served as a Navy corpsman before building a thirty-year career in medicine and medical sales. Along the way, he lived across the country, traveled extensively, and developed a lifelong love of storytelling.

The Last Ordinary Day grew from two enduring passions: family and the sea.

Although fictional, the novel draws inspiration from experiences, memories, and questions that have followed him throughout his life. At its heart, it is a story about fathers and sons, friendship, loss, and the realization that ordinary moments are often the most important ones we ever receive.

He has spent time sailing the waters off Southern California and throughout the British Virgin Islands. His love of the ocean helped shape the novel’s crossing from California to New Zealand, while its emotional core was shaped by something far more personal: the relationships we carry with us long after the people themselves are gone.

Although best known for his historical gothic novels, The Bavent Bloodline Chronicles, his stories often return to the same themes: family, legacy, loss, resilience, and the choices that shape ordinary lives.

He lives in Fort Smith, Arkansas, where he continues to write.

“You don’t know the last ordinary day until it’s already gone.”
