Matriarch of The Eye and the bloodline. She was given in sacrifice with Urbain Grandier, her blood binding the Eye. From her womb came our line.

No husband recorded. Daughter: Jeanne, born out of wedlock.

Jeanne Planterose Bavent (1588–1617)

Daughter of Isabelle. She bore the Planterose name until she wed Guillaume Bavent of Rouen. He went mad, murdered her, and ended his own life. Her daughter lived on.

Madeleine Bavent (1607–1674)

Jeanne’s orphaned child. She carried her father’s name and carried it into Louviers. Convent survivor. She bore in secret a daughter, sired by Mathurin Picard. Thus, corruption entered our blood.

Isabeau Bavent (1642–1710)

Born in a dungeon at the Convent of Louviers. Moved with her mother to the Château de Refuge. Married Étienne Drouin, who bent to the vow and took her name.

Married Pierre Marchand. He scorned the vow, refused the name, and was cast out. His name is lost; ours endured.

Married Henri Vallois, who became Bavent by oath.

Rena Cordia Bennett (1839–1894)

She fled Maine for Boston, renaming the Château de Refuge as Bencliff Manor. Whispers of her bloodline stirred fear and threat, so she anglicized her name to survive. She married Jonathan Chambers, who abandoned his own name and took the Bennett mantle. Outwardly she lived as Rena Bennett, but the Eye knows no Bennetts—only Bavents—and in her veins the blood endured.

Cassandra Bennett (1993–2025)

Inherited the Eye. Her dreams turned black; the whispers grew too loud. She ended her life, leaving the Eye unclaimed.

Madeline “Maddie” Bennett (1995– )

Daughter of Gwendolyn. Bavent by blood, Bennett by paper. The Eye calls her by the truer name.
